Home Business Resources for Every Entrepreneur

Home business resources for every entrepreneurHome business has been a hot topic on the Internet for several years and will continue to become more and more important as a source of full time personal and family income in the years ahead. Why?

Several reasons come to mind.

First, private and public companies are bought and sold daily. Small profitable companies are gobbled up by large conglomerates and parent companies looking for competitive advantages and new technologies. What happens to employees when companies change ownership?

Many employees, seasoned or not, get RIF'd (reduction in force), the polite way of saying "you're fired because we don't think you're an important enough employee to keep on board."

Many people are choosing home based business over working full time for an employer. The reasons why someone would want to work for themselves are varied and many:

  • They hate the boss,
  • They want to increase their earning capacity,
  • They would rather work at home, or need to work at home to care for a child,
  • They hate the long commute,
  • They want to have more control over their time, their daily work activities, etc,
  • They want to the the boss in their own company,
  • They like the flexibility of not being constrained by large corporate policy,
  • They enjoy the creativity and the ability to express their own ideas,
  • And on, and on . . .

Others may lose their job because their skills (or the need for their skills) is no longer in demand. (How much work is there for a phonograph repairman these days?)

Some folks simply hate their work - they are enduring because they have to put bread on the table . . . but they would really rather be doing almost anything else!

The point is, in America at least, the employee mix is turning from a predominance of workers who have jobs in companies they don't own to more and more self-employed workers that don't answer to an employer other than themselves.

The challenge that many of the newly self-employed face is the fact that they have little or training in how to run a self-guided business. They may have any number of great ideas for products and services they'd be good at selling, but don't understand how to market what they have or successfully run the day-to-day operations of a profitable company.

Drum roll please . . . that's why this blog was created. Our specific focus is on helping entrepreneurs (especially those going solo) to access great business resources and information and provide them with successful business strategies, tips, and great advice.

Why not grab the RSS feed that we offer and pipe Business Alone right in to your computer so you can be close to information that will help you make money?

Home Business Resources for Every Entrepreneur
Home business has been a hot topic on the Internet for several years and will continue to become more and more important as a source of full time personal and family income in the years ahead. Why? Several reasons come to mind. First, private and public companies are bought and sold daily. Small profitable companies are gobbled up by large conglomerates and parent companies looking for competitive advantages and new technologies. Global Competition for the Little Guy
Competition for business products or services of any kind is a given. In Hometown, USA you may not have competitors for what you sell; but on the Internet, the world is your market and you will have to learn to compete . . . or die! Times are changing and every solo business owner needs to design his little company in a way that it can be globally competitive, regionally competitive, and even locally competitive.
Popular Activities of Those Who Access the Internet
I recently came upon an article that was a great resource for online entrepreneurs. It described the favorite activities of web surfers and other users who were accessing the Internet. The thought I had was this: why wouldn't a new or aspiring (or even seasoned) business owner want to keep this list on file and return to it often as a way of understanding what activities were important to an online business owner? Why should these things be important to an online owner?
Home Business Profits for the Online Business Owner
All over the globe there is a wave of entrepreneurism that is sweeping the small business world both here in America and in far away places. What is fanning the flames of this hot topic is easy access to the Internet. The pioneers that are striking out on their own to carve business niches and discover new ways to profit from online marketing are simple working men and women with a common desire. They all want to throw off the shackles of employment slavery.
    What is a Solo Business?
I hope the term "solo" doesn't confuse you or cause any concern about what this type of business really refers to. You see, in some folks' minds, "solo" is just one thing - a song that is sung alone by one person. But as we're using the term here in the business sense, "solo" simply means that you are in business for yourself and by yourself. No partners, no employees, it's just YOU.
